The second cohort of Sahrawi summer camps returned today to the Sahrawi refugee camps after spending 15 days vacationing away from the summer heat.
They were welcomed by the Secretary General of the Sahrawi Youth Union, members of the National Council and members of the General Command of the Sahrawi Scouts and Children.
The Secretary-General welcomed the Saharawi pioneers, and expressed his happiness at their safe return.
He emphasized that the Sahrawi camps aim to strengthen the spirit of citizenship and national belonging among Sahrawi children and youth, and familiarize them with the culture and history of the Sahrawi state.
He also praised the role played by the Saharawi Scout and Childhood Organization in educating and preparing Saharawi children and youth to be active in society.
He expressed his full support for the organization’s activities and called on Saharawi youth to continue participating in the programs of the Saharawi Scout Organization.
The Sahrawi cadets expressed their happiness to spend their summer vacation in the summer camps in Algeria, and thanked the Secretary General, members of the General Command of the Sahrawi Scouts and Children and members of the National Council for the good reception.
The students emphasized that the desert summer camps were an opportunity for them to learn, gain skills and experience, and strengthen the spirit of citizenship and national belonging.
They expressed their desire to participate in next year’s desert camps.
